Evaluation of 'Conscience Revenge' Opening Sequence

1- Brief entry

The class has had to make an opening title sequence that's at least  two minutes long. My groups sequence it named 'Conscience Revenge' a psychological horror. The psychological genre can be interesting to the group members,  the characters in this are experiencing psychological problems throughout which is partly be the reason for the sequence's name.

Conscience: "a person's moral sense of right and wrong, viewed as acting as a guide to one's behavior."

The title was given its name due to what happens in the story, the protagonists sense of morals lead them to commit certain actions as a form of revenge.
In the opening sequence the main character, a college student has her best friend kidnapped. The kidnappers send her a video of her friend while threatening to kill her if she fails to comply with the order of handing over her special notebook.
The idea was inspired by an anime named 'Death Note an anime series that everyone in the group has watched (the group members are fond watching anime or Japanese cartoons).
The story idea was the best the group could think of with areas that everyone would be allowed to access (permission from some parents/carers required).


2- Audience

The main target audience younger people around the age 15-25 or both genders although the may or may not relate more to females as the main characters are of that gender, making the primary targets female with the secondary being male.
Demographic groups C to E, skilled manual workers to those who don't have a job may be more likely to prefer this compared to those of a higher management which is possibly a good thing as the target age will most likely fit into this category.

Those who prefer to stay indoors and possibly have a close bond with their best friend may prefer to this. Some people like this are more likely to use the internet which can increase the chance of advertisements being found. With this method it's easier to spread information about the film to a larger group of people in a smaller amount of time.

There is no specific focal point for a specific race since this is set in London it will have a mixed race cast, like London which is a multi-cultural area.

The group has looked at the how some of the target ages can sometimes act, a lot of people around this age may tend to use the internet more than those of a younger or older age. They may also prefer things which are of the horror genre although our sequence is more psychological based, the genre can attract the attention of the targeted people.
We know that those of a lower management will prefer this compared to someone of a higher one as the horror genre may possibly be off-putting. With this we were able to get an idea of what type of stuff they may like.

The main focus here was to introduce the story to the viewer and give them a rough idea of what is happening. The plot is partly established through the use of quick cuts of the kidnapping/ kidnapper and news reports which follow after, with these we can quickly see that something is wrong. With the presence of news reports it becomes clear that the occurring problem large, which is also noticeable through the presence of reports in other languages

5- How it represents particular social groups

The main characters shown in the sequence are of a younger age from this there are two or three possible social groups presented. In the first part of the sequence we are shown one of the characters looking across the water from a over the shoulder view
