First film pitch presentation- Feedback



Overall the group received decently good feedback with the expected mentioning of what needs to be improved.
Two out of the three have agreed/mentioned that the audience profile was one of the elements that had worked.
The researched products as well as the film idea and title were also considered working elements and the messages and use of the sketchbook being used as iconography were seen as a good idea.
 
Things believed to be in need of development were story idea/narrative seeing as they were stated to be confusing and needed to be made clearer, more research could be presented from the anime/manga genre along with the explanation of how the generic codes and conventions occur in the opening.
 
Things said not to have worked were the genre hybrid- action. only stated on one sheet.
 
With this feedback the group has begun working to improve the presentation based on the things stated to be in need of development and what didn’t work.

This is the storyboard containing the idea for the film, this is the groups first idea so there may also be changes later on to small details or the entire thing. I do have another idea for an opening sequence, so there's a chance I'll look at that later on. If the rest of the group is okay with it there is a chance they might prefer that idea as it may make more sense compared to this one.   The group I am in only has three people, which won't be enough so I will ask some friends if it is possible for them to fill some extra roles.

Film: Mission Impossible 4 Ghost Protocol (2011) Genre: Action, Thriller, Adventure, Spy Film: The Man with the Golden Arm (1955) Genre: Drama (song, visuals) Title sequences gone far in the way they have been presented. Earlier sequences mostly revealed the names of important crew members and actors, later sequences now sometimes use them to show part of the upcoming story and set enigmas. Over the years the ones we see today are said to have been built from "se7en" 's title sequence, since Kyle Cooper the creator of the sequence was said to have broken the mould in the creation of the sequence.  The title sequence for Se7en (1995) uses close up shots throughout. Hostage (2005) Genre: Action, Crime, Drama Description: A failed police negotiator turned small-town cop, must save the lives of a family held hostage, which draws him into a much more dangerous situation. This film could be comparable in someway to the groups idea. Our idea is about a person whose friend is kidnapped, the situation is already dangerous but upon deciding to save them things get worse as they are now basically facing the danger head on. Deciding to fight against it in their own way. I haven't watched the film 'Hostage' myself but from the description and the trailer I have been given a rough idea of what happened. The film runs around the failed police negotiator, and it appears that he tries to face the situation in his own way which in turn puts him in a bad situation.
