The sequence starts with a small screen being turned on, beside it are a box of colouring pencils which could suggest that the film is related to something of a more creative nature. The camera zooms in on the screen as photos of a woman's face and a picture of her eye are placed on it alongside the name of the film, the next image shown shows a heel as well as some materials which helps confirm that the film is fashion related.
The sequence mainly focuses on showing women wearing different types of clothing in different styles of fashion a few of the photos presented focus more on close ups of the woman's faces. The showing of materials such as colouring pencils and a ruler help suggest that the film could be related to the making of fashion.
Elements of a musical/ comedy are heard/ hinted through the use of a more cheerful music in the background.
Ex 2: Godzilla 2014: genre: Action/thriller
The sequence starts in a mostly black and white tone with the showing of ancient/old images of prehistoric creatures along with texts from articles or books about them, one of which mentions natural selection which could possibly be linked to what happens later on in the film. One of the images which is only shown for a second shows a man fighting a serpent fish like creature, after this the audience is shown reports of injured people, damage or marine property and the need to send equipment somewhere.

These are followed by news articles that mention a disaster, the denial of a submarine going missing and the sighing of an unknown object.
The first piece of footage presented shows a marine holding the American flag which cuts to another putting on a diving suit, this then cuts to part of a large creature breaking through the surface of the water which is likely to be the unknown object mentioned in one of the news articles shown earlier. People seen beginning to take action, making bombs and referring to this creature as a monster which is seen being typed with a typewriter.
From this the audience can learn about the discovery of a creature which is being seen as a threat by humanity, the mentioning of bombs suggests that it may be a powerful creature which is harder to deal with by other means.
Ships being loaded with explosives and submarines full off people travelling out to sea, followed by maps and radars are shown. From this it's obvious that they are searching for the new threat. Upon the second sighing of the creature all the people on board the boat are shown to be prepared, after a countdown it is shot by a missile. After the aiming of the missile and its firing the screen turns to have colour and all music stops to be replaced by the natural sound of the explosion.
The title of the film appears with the smoke or aftermath of the explosion as the background.

It's noticeable that as the sequence goes by it gradually begins to gain more colour, this helps the audience understand that this monster has been around for some time and has survived up to the modern day, showing that it may be hard to get rid of. This could be linked to the photos of prehistoric creatures shown earlier on which could theorize that this monster may be some sort of prehistoric creature.
From this the audience is introduced to the main problem of the film, they learn that it is a powerful creature which requires military assistance to counter. Although no main human protagonists have shown up it's clear that this creature is considered dangerous thus unwanted judging by the actions of the people shown.

From the start the music is of a serious tone which suggest danger and trouble, it's put to a sudden stop after the explosion and following the appearance of the films title changes to something of a more chilling tone. The combination of this and the footage shown earlier helps convey that it is in the action thriller genre.
